Undergraduate Student Senate of Virginia Tech

We are the USS of Virginia Tech. The voice of every Hokie, for every Hokie.
The Undergraduate Student Senate (USS) is the official governing body of undergraduate students at Virginia Tech. Through representing over 30,000 undergraduate Hokies within the shared governance system, creating legislative recommendations that supports a positive and inclusive student experience, and disseminating a portion of the student activity fee to registered student organizations, we are a group of servant leaders here to serve you!

Hey Hokies!

I’m Lindsay Ricci, President of the Undergraduate Student Senate (USS) of Virginia Tech and we’re so glad you’re here. The USS serves as the official representative body for all undergraduate students, working to enhance the student experience through accessible and inclusive advocacy, responsible stewardship, and a commitment to integrity, representation, and the Virginia Tech spirit of Ut Prosim (That I May Serve). Throughout Virginia Tech’s shared governance system, USS members represent your voice on university committees and commissions, contribute to policy recommendations and changes, and vote on university-wide policies and issues. Beyond shared governance, student senators collaborate with campus stakeholders and administrators on projects or initiatives to address wider non-policy university issues.

As the nation's only unicameral student government, we strive to set the standard for collegiate student governance. Achieving that goal begins with our student senators, who advance meaningful legislation, engage in collaborative advocacy, and uphold the principles of servant leadership and integrity. Because USS exists to serve and represent all undergraduate students, we welcome your ideas, feedback, and involvement. We encourage you to participate in the policy process and attend our meetings, held on select Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. in Squires Auditorium. We are a group of servant leaders committed to serving you. Follow our Instagram page, and please reach out to us with any student concerns, questions, or ideas you have at uss@vt.edu. Go Hokies!
