Cabinet
Comprised of 7 student leaders, the USS Cabinet serves as the overarching leadership team for the USS. Each year, the USS President and 5 Vice Presidents are elected by the student body. The Vice President and Representative to the Board of Visitors (BOV) is appointed by the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors. Their responsibilities include regularly meeting with administrators, working to support students and initiatives to create positive change on campus, and represent the organization externally.

I'm a double major in political science and criminology, specifically interested in prison reform. In my rare moments of free time, I enjoy hiking and reading. - My name is Lane Robertson, and I am the 23-25 Vice President for Administration. I am a dual degree candidate in International Relations and Spanish. As a military brat, I've lived in various places, most recently in Ashburn, VA. A cool fact about me is that I learned to ski in the Swiss Alps while living in Germany. I can also do a Kickflip on a skateboard. One of my goals for the USS is to create long-term systems that equip our senators with all of the knowledge, skills, relationships, and support they need to make our campus more inclusive, accessible, and sustainable.

- I’m an Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Technology Management major, a Senior, and a 3rd-year Cabinet member. As the Vice President for Inclusive and Strategic Affairs, I review pertinent pieces of legislation, creates resolutions that empower our inclusive campus community, serves as the USS point of contact for all UCSOs, as well as oversees our governmental relations efforts.

- Hello! I am a Junior studying National Security/Foreign Affairs and Spanish from Fairfax, Virginia. When not working, I enjoy lifting, finding interesting foods to eat, and spending quality time with my friends. I got my start in the Undergraduate Student Senate as the Director of Hokie Effect, where I was able to gain experience in marketing, budgeting, and leadership. As the Vice President of Finance this year, I am especially interested in improving servant leadership within the Undergraduate Student Senate. I look forward to finding better ways to communicate with student organizations and senators, as well as hope to improve my committees’ reception to feedback. I’m always open to an email and look forward to serving the student body during the 2024-2025 school year.
